Prospective Students
Thank you for your interest in my research! I've put together some information to help you understand what I look for in students and collaborators. My goal is to create a research environment that supports learning, creativity, and well-being. I hope this helps you decide if our interests and working styles align.
What I Look For in Students
I welcome students from diverse backgrounds and experiences. You don't need to have everything figured out — just a genuine interest in growing and contributing. Here are some qualities I especially value:
- Research Fit: At the heart of my work is a commitment to human-centered technology. I explore how people engage with AI in productivity and creative contexts, design intuitive and impactful user experiences, and develop accessible tools that empower diverse users. I encourage you to review my recent publications and let me know what sparked your interest or what ideas you're excited to pursue.
- Curiosity: I look for students who are eager to learn and ask thoughtful questions. Curiosity drives exploration, helps uncover new insights, and leads to more meaningful research.
- Time Management Skills: I appreciate when students try to stay organized and proactive. Setting goals, managing time, and following through on tasks can make our collaboration smoother and more rewarding.
- Open Communication: I deeply value honesty and transparency. Clear and authentic communication builds trust and helps me support you better.
